the 4 biggest lawn sign blunders

We’ve seen it all over the years, but there are some doozies that we thought would help you avoid making costly mistakes with your lawn signs. So, here we go.

1.       Looking like everyone else

At first it was the white plastic with light blue letters. Before you knew it “copy cats” were out doing the same thing. Initially this was new and garnered good results, but over-use by too many companies, causes the message to become “blended” and those signs fade out of people’s visio.  You need to be unique and stick out to get noticed.

2.       “Tiny” signs with too much information

More information is not better with lawn signs. You lose the basic message which is “Call us now” when you put too much information on a sign, especially a tiny one. For example, two phone numbers will confuse the potential lead especially on a tiny sign. A car driving at medium speed can only read a large sign (average size 32” X 22”). Keep it simple.  If you have more to say get a bigger sign.

3.       Going  “cheap” = losing leads

Lawn signs are designed to get you leads. BUT if the wind has bent the frames making it difficult to read, or there is too much information on a “tiny” sign or sunlight shines through the sign making it difficult to read, you get the same outcome: LESS LEADS.  Don’t let that happen to you.  For a few dollars more you can look professional AND get more qualified leads and be clearly seen by passengers in cars.

4.       No consistency

Most people need to see a lawn sign anywhere from 2 to 7 times before they call. If you don’t give your potential customers the opportunity to see your lawn signs over a period of time, you’ve lost out on qualified leads. When you do a lawn sign campaign you ensure that qualified leads are created consistently helping to minimize the ups and downs for your sales cycles and cash flow.

Avoiding these 4 blunders will get you leads, follow any of them and you will be throwing money away and not getting the results you should.
